How important is insurance? 

All customer goods must be insured whilst in storage. At Magenta we can provide you with insurance cover that is specifically designed for the self storage industry.

How does insurance work?

All goods must be insured whilst stored at Magenta storage locations. We can provide you with a protection plan that is specifically designed for self storage use or you can arrange your own insurance. Taking out insurance cover is standard procedure for all self storage companies.

 

How much does insurance cost?

Our self storage insurance costs as little as £0.80 per £1000 of cover per week, depending on the value of goods being stored. Our standard insurance costs are as follows:

  • Basic = £26/month (£4,000 cover)
  • Standard = £33/month (£6,000 cover)
  • Plus = £40/month (£8,000 cover)
  • Premium = £50/month (£15,000 cover)

If you need more than £15,000 insurance cover please contact us for a bespoke quotation.

What does Magenta insurance cover?

The Magenta insurance policy covers a wide range of possessions as long as they do not exceed the insurance cover value. All stored possessions must be insured for their full replacement value in a 'new-for-old' basis.

What does Magenta insurance not cover?

The following items are not permitted to be stored and, as such, cannot be insured:

  • food/perishable goods
  • living creatures
  • combustible/flammable materials
  • dangerous chemicals/materials
  • anything that emits fumes or odour
  • illegal substances or illicit materials

    You can store pretty much anything you want with Magenta Storage from furniture to skiing equipment, golf balls to your prized stamp collection! All that we ask is that your goods aren’t perishable, hazardous, flammable, illegal or living! Anything else is absolutely fine.
    We do personal, business, office, and student storage. Please pay us a visit as we are currently running some fantastic deals.
    Self Storage is a shorter name for Self Service Storage where you hire a storage unit in which you store your belongings. All you have to do is bring your items to one of our storage facilities, put them in a storage unit, lock the door and you’re done! You can come and go as often as you like during the store opening hours. You are the sole keyholder so you can be assured your storage unit is 100% private.
    Magenta Storage takes security very seriously. We want you to feel completely at ease when storing with us. As such, all Magenta Storage facilities are covered by 24hr CCTV surveillance and multi-zone alarm and fire systems. Access to Magenta Storage facilities is also tightly controlled using PIN access control systems which allow us to restrict access to authorised customers and staff.
